'Wild Boy' ranges between sophistication and whimsy

Art critic David Bromfield describes Harry Hummerston as the local wild boy of art whose current crop of assemblages are essential viewing. Best-known as a printmaker, Hummerston's latest exhibition of mixed media works at Delaney Galleries ranges from. sophisticated objects of contemplation to the whimsical and earthy.

A clue to their unusual nature can be found in the title "An Odd Odd Thought".

Bromfield writes: The back rooms hold an hilarious series of assemblages by local wild boy Harry Hummerston. They are absolutely not to be missed. They range from sophisticated objects for meditation to the 'ship in a bottle" humour of Journey's End.
